1/32 Scale The Camel was perhaps the best allied fighter of WW I. It was victory tally was 1,924 aircraft short down in only sixteen months of fighting. The Camel was an Aces Mount which was extremely agile and had a fast rate of climb. In a controversial air battle in 1918 the great Baron Von Richthofen fell to the guns of a 209 Squadron RAF Camel flown by Canadian Roy Brown. This is an Academy 1/32 scale plastic model kit. The Sopwith Camel F.1 was perhaps the best Allied fighter of WWI. It shot down 1,924 aircraft in only 16 months of fighting. The Camel was extremely agile and had a fast rate of climb. Although ‘flown” once by Charlie Brown’s dog “Snoopy”, on TV, it’s actual most controversial battle occured in 1918, when the great Baron Von Richtofen fell to the guns of an RAF 209 Squadron Sopwith Camel flown by Canadian Capt. A. Roy Brown. Academy has brilliantly recreated this famous aircraft, down to the last detail. This 10 1/2″ wingspan, 1/32 scale plastic model kit includes authentic decals, detailed cockpit interior and 9-cylinder radial engine compartment. The molded wing spars and supports, and dual machine guns are all there too. (figure not included)
